Profile

Hello and welcome! I’m Hideic, the creator of this blog.

Currently, I live in Japan with my wonderful wife and our baby, enjoying the adventures of being a small but lively family.

Like many people, I once wondered:
“Is it really okay to just keep working at my company?”
“Isn’t there something only I can do to help others?”
These quiet questions have always been at the back of my mind, inspiring me to seek more meaning in daily life.

Last year, I took the big step of taking six months of paternity leave to be fully present for my newborn and my wife.
Changing diapers and putting our baby to sleep were challenges for both of us—but every day brought new joy, deep appreciation for family, and a sense of wonder at watching a tiny life grow.

Since my student days, I’ve always dreamed of connecting with people around the world and making a difference, even in small ways.
That’s why I decided to start studying English seriously again, using the TOEIC as my guide.

What’s TOEIC?
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a globally recognized English test, especially popular in Japan and Asia, for measuring everyday and business English skills.
For me, it’s not just about a score—it’s a symbol of my wish to open new doors, challenge myself, and reach out to friends worldwide.

During my paternity leave, I learned so much—not only about childcare, but also from new books I read and home-cooking adventures I tried.
Improving the quality of daily life, and sharing what I learn, has become a true passion. If my experiences or ideas can inspire or help even one person, that would make me truly happy.

In this blog, I share:

  • Honest stories from parenting in Japan
  • Creative ways to study English (and what I’ve learned so far)
  • Insights and inspiration from books
  • Everyday lifestyle tips to make life a little richer

Through these everyday challenges and discoveries, I hope to grow alongside my family—and with you, my readers.
Let’s take one small step at a time toward our dreams, together!

Thank you for being here, and I hope you enjoy the journey with me!
